General Information

As per the Indonesian Ministry of Education regulations, schools in Indonesia can no longer use “International” in their name; so many schools have changed their name in recent years to ensure regulatory compliance. These schools are allowed to employ expatriate teachers as experts in their given subjects and use international curriculum.

Sekolah Bogor Raya believes that values can not be taught in a spontaneous manner, they need to be cultivated in all areas of our student’s educational journey, both inside and outside the classroom. All departments from PG-K to Secondary Level have designed their own programs to support the cultivation of our school values. School values are also instilled through the modelling of positive behaviour by peers, older students and our staff.

SBR facilitates differentiation in classroom learning. Every department has its own counsellor who works together with the classroom teachers and pedagogical leaders to help and support students with learning difficulties.

We have 3 major buildings on our campus.
Building 1 = Primary School

Building 3 = Secondary School

Learning facilities to accommodate students interests in each division; such as Library, Music Room, ICT Room, Soccer fields, Basketball fields, Table Tennis, Swimming pools, cafetaria, playground, Visual Arts Room, Laboratories (Biology, Physics, Chemistry), Sick Bays (Clinics), Auditorium.

Sekolah Bogor Raya works together with a number of vendors to provide food and beverages in the school canteen. Those vendors are under the school management’s supervision. The school has an agreement with the providers related to the variety of food provided, the related vendors have the responsibility to ensure that all food provided enables a balanced and healthy diet for students.

The school directly supervises the canteen on a daily basis. Any violation which could pose a risk to food safety will result in a warning by the school and if this behaviour continued it could result in the termination of the contract with the vendor in question.

The swimming pool is maintained on a daily basis and it has a weekly routine for checking or testing the water chlorine. Monitoring activity is done by checking it out by supervisor and office manager.

Yes, SBR provides the school bus service for students. The covered areas are:

School Security

The School Security staff are asked to implement a high standard of safety that is in line with school values to create a secure environment for everyone in the Sekolah Bogor Raya community.

To promote safety and to respect the school learning time schedule, we ask parents /caregivers /drivers to understand and follow the drop off and pick up regulation. The drop off can be done in the 3 lobby areas, or by parking in the parking area opposite school and walking across. At the end of each day the homeroom teachers will supervise the students as they are waiting for their parents at the lobby area and we ask drivers/ parents/caregivers to pick them up on time.

Yes, Sekolah Bogor Raya has a very comprehensive CCTV system which covers every classroom, hallway and area of the PG-K, Primary and Secondary buildings.

The school does not allow parents access to CCTV footage because if there is any situation that requires investigation it is handled internally and when necessary parents will be informed of the outcome of the investigation and any consequences given to the student(s) in question.

Each level of the school has a roster system to ensure that all areas are regularly supervised both during recess and lunch times. This is a rotating system and it means all educators will take turns on yard duty to ensure the safety of our students.

Our goal is for our students to be genuinely bilingual in English and Bahasa Indonesia. As our students all live in Indonesia and most speak Bahasa Indonesia at home, we encourage our students to speak English at all times in the school to improve their English fluency.

No, We only teach English & Bahasa Indonesia in the school curriculum. We do have Mandarin Center for extracurricular activity.

Yes, they still can join in Sekolah Bogor Raya however, it depends on the identification test results.

SBR has 137 certified teachers with Bachelor and Master degrees in Education as their background. Beside their experiences in teaching, they still get regular professional development that is provided by the school to support their teaching and learning activities according to the qualification requirements from IB and Cambridge curriculum.

Playgroup K1 : 20 students with 4 teachers in one class

K2 : 20 students with 3 teachers in one class.

K3 and Preparatory : 20 students with 2 teachers in one class.

Primary Grade 1 to 6 : 25 students with 2 teachers in one class.

Secondary Grade 7 to 12 : 25 students with 1 teacher in one class.

Yes, we have the religion lessons that are designed for 5 religions; Moslem, Christian, Catholic, Buddhism and Hindu.

SBR facilitates students to sharpen their basic life skills since they are at Playgroup level. The foundation scale in learning is designed to make students continue their learning at a higher level in ease.

Introducing how to read and write at Kindergarten level are done in fun ways to support students learn happily.

The homework is designed to support students mastering their knowledge and practices. The homework is prepared in varied activity not just a paper based homework.

Character building activities are designed in line with the IB mission statement and the school vision and mission. It is very important to make students feel accepted, respect him/herself and surrounding and get the responsibility towards her/his action.

Student Life

SBR has school counselors who works according to the schedule. However initiated approach to students are allowed with Principal’s noticed.

The majority of our students are Indonesian but we have a rich mix of nationalities here at SBR. We currently have students from China, the Philippines, South Korea, France, America and India. We see the diverse nature of our students as a real benefit to our students when it comes to viewing differences as an enriching aspect of school rather than something to fear.

Our parents are invited to be part of our students learning in a number of ways. When it comes to being informed of the material that will be covered we have regular Parent Information Sessions to keep our parents in the loop. We also invite parents once per semester to discuss each student progress via either a Three Way Conference or a Student Led Conference. We also encourage our parents to be part of our lessons should they happen to work or be an expert in a field linked to the material currently being studied. Our parents will also receive updates about school events through social media and of course regular school letters to parents.

Students can drive to school by following the government regulation; must be 17 years old and he/she has a driving licence.

Enrollment

The school Early bird enrollment will start at the first semester of school year. The school year starts in July and ended in June.

The written tests are Mathematics (for all grades), English (for all grades), and Bahasa Indonesia (only for grade 1). Interview by Principal is done after the written test.
