Child Safeguarding

At SBR, we are deeply committed to the safety and well-being of every child entrusted to our care. We recognize that creating a secure and nurturing environment is fundamental to each student’s ability to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As part of our commitment, we have implemented a comprehensive Child Safeguarding Policy that ensures all students are protected from harm, abuse, and neglect.

We believe it is our institutional duty to provide a safe space for all students, regardless of their cultural or social background. Child abuse and neglect are serious violations of a child’s rights and are significant barriers to their education and development. Our staff and faculty are trained to recognize signs of abuse and neglect, and we are dedicated to taking immediate and appropriate action to protect any student in need.

As educators, we have a unique position of trust and responsibility. We interact with students daily, allowing us to observe changes in behavior and identify signs of distress. Our professional and ethical obligation extends beyond education; it includes ensuring that any child in our care who is at risk receives the necessary support and protection. This obligation is not only a professional duty but a moral one, as we strive to create a safe and supportive environment for every student.

We fully endorse the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which emphasizes the right of every child to be protected from all forms of physical or mental violence, injury, abuse, neglect, or exploitation. As a school operating in Indonesia, we also comply with national child protection laws and collaborate with local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.

All members of our faculty and staff are mandated to report any concerns regarding a student’s safety or well-being. We have clear, established procedures for reporting and responding to suspected cases of abuse or neglect.

These procedures are designed to ensure that every report is taken seriously and that appropriate actions are taken swiftly to protect the child. In cases where necessary, we may involve local authorities, child protection agencies, or consulates to provide the child with the support they need.

Our goal is to create an environment where children not only are safe but feel safe. We want every student to know that they are valued and protected within our school community.

By fostering a culture of safety, respect, and care, we aim to support the holistic development of every child, ensuring they grow into confident, well-rounded individuals.
