On August 17, 2024, Sekolah Bogor Raya (SBR) commemorated Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day by hosting traditional competitions and a flag ceremony, with participation from students and staff of various nationalities. The activities, including sack races, tug-of-war, and gobak sodor, aimed to foster teamwork and reignite the spirit of independence among students, while also introducing Indonesian culture to foreign participants.
During the flag ceremony, SBR Junior High School Principal Susandi delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of education and leadership in building a strong, competitive nation. He encouraged students to dream big and uphold Indonesian values as they navigate the global arena.
Fransiska Susilawati, SBR’s Academic Director, highlighted the school’s success in blending internationally accredited curricula with local cultural values. She also emphasized the role of non-academic activities, such as Model United Nations and Spelling Bee competitions, in developing students’ leadership and appreciation for Indonesian culture.
SBR invites the community to learn more about the school at the upcoming Open House on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
