It is worth pointing out that a Silver Medal means that a student scored in the top 1% of all participants - a wonderful achievement. Congratulations to all of you!    Congratulations to Tiffany Alice Soebiantoro of Grade 12 Social for winning our Mascot Competition.   This mascot will be used for those teams like cricket, rugby, etc which do not yet have an individual identity and will also be used in some school promotional materials moving forward.  It was a very close competition with lots of excellent entries, but in the end, Tiffany's entry took it due to the bold and proud design and her excellent explanation of the philosophy behind the mascot. Tiffany wins gift vouchers from Gramedia to the value of IDR1,000,000! An honorable mention must go out to Peter and Amira, also of 12 Social, for their excellent "SBR Howlers" design. It was a very difficult decision for the committee of school leaders to make.     Amazing achievement from the Sekolah Bogor Raya Swim Team; Trident Aquatics at the Sekolah Tiara Bangsa - ACS Swim Meet. Last year, we took 5th place in the boys' competition and 7th place in the girls' competition. This year, we took 2nd place in both the boys' and girls' competition against some of the best schools in Jakarta. This is a huge achievement and due to the ongoing efforts of the parents, swim coaches, Pak Widi, and - most importantly - the kids who have been training constantly in preparation for this moment. Congratulations to everyone!  Joanne Katarina Agus, from Grade 12 Sci, has won The UN "A Wish For The Planet" Competition. She has selected as one of 21 winners (category : age 16-18 years). We are extremely proud, because she has beaten 900 participants (600 drawings and 300 texts) from 60 countries and has created a beautiful piece of artwork. Brava!  Our SBR Students - Kazimiera Talaska, Jelita Barbara Clough, and Elsa Tiara Tjendana, who participated in CEI (Caretakers of the Environment International) 2014 in Yilan, Taiwan. Our kids won 1st place in the Poster Competition to promote the CEI Olympics. Kazi and Elsa, with their international teammates, were also part of the winning house' team during the 'Olympics'. Some of the coordinators gave a special mention for our kids performance also; Wayne Schimpff - CEI Board Member from Chicago : "Your project is very well presented, but I would like to say- your English is admirable! Sometimes I think even better than mine!"Alii Lin - CEI Taiwan Coordinator - "Thanks for the (post CEI) article and your active participation! I believe your girls did very well! In our online survey, several delegates mentioned that they were impressed by your project!"Julien Beulken - CEI Alumni Chairperson from the Netherlands - "The experience I had with the delegation was always a pleasant one. I think their level of English is good- surely well enough for the conference and as far as I saw they actively took part in activities and engaged with other students (precisely how we, Alumni, like to see students do.)" A huge congratulations to the participating students and an extra big thank you to Ibu Ina of SMP-SMA for accompanying our students to Taiwan for this event.
