There seems to be a negative correlation between screen time and GCSE grades: watching Vines, playing online games, and Youtube/TV can all be enjoyable leisure pursuits, but even an hour of screen time per day has an impact on student performance. An extra hour of screen time per day correlates to a 7 point drop in GCSE scores and an extra hour of non-screen learning time (homework/reading) results in a 23 point increase in GCSE scores   Calling all athletes! We need additional players for our basketball teams to help make this important team sport an even more central part of our sporting culture here at SBR. The training is intense, the teamwork is thrilling, and the rewards can be huge. Congratulations to Anggie, who recently received the top 6 Junior NBA scholarship worth $1,000  Congratulations to our wonderful SMP Choir team, who achieved the Silver Medal in the recent Penabur Choir Festival in Jakarta. A huge thanks also to Pak Jan for devoting his time and effort to preparing our kids and to the parents for being so actively supportive in every way.    For those of you who requested; a video of our forthcoming Building 3 - a dedicated 4-story construction with state-of-the-art science labs, art and design spaces, commons areas, sports facilities, library, and a huge canteen area. Happy Independence Day to our wonderful nation, Indonesia! 70 years of growth and development and continuous improvement. Maju Indonesia!  Traditional (and not so traditional) games after our flag raising ceremony to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Indonesian Independence. A lot of fun was had by all!   Construction is now well underway on our dedicated Junior and Senior high school building. We will be trying hard to avoid any disruption to our learning as we aim to complete this new centre of excellence in time for the 2016-2017 school year.
